CanSkate

CANSKATE

The CanSkate program focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. Skaters will earn ribbons, badges and other incentives as they learn fundamental skating skills.

Lessons are given in a group format and led by an NCCP certified professional coach. Trained program assistants assist Professional coaches during CanSkate sessions. Skater’s progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active, using teaching aids, music and a wide variety of activities that create a fun environment and promote learning.

StarSkate

STARSKATE / SENIOR

Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition - this is what StarSkate is all about! StarSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Skaters begin practicing their Preliminary Skills, Dances and FreeSkate test requirements.

The session is taught in a group format as skaters work with a dedicated coach and will start to work towards independent practice. Skaters who are in the StarSkate program may begin to look for their own private coach to further their skating development. Even if you have selected a private coach, skaters will still participate in the Group StarSkate teachings, that way your child can get comfortable with the format of the StarSkate program.

SynchroSkate

SYNCHRO SKATE

Synchronized skating, or “synchro” is a specialized discipline of skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. The objective is for the team to perform as one unit executing circles, blocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow.

The Magic Blades are proud to have five teams this season: Beginner 1, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Pre-Novice and Blades N'Sync Adult 2 team. All five teams are coached by Chrissy Kernaghan.
